My father was a lieutenant colonel in the 8th air force and did 22 bombing missions over Germany from England. He was head pilot of the whole squadron.

We all have stories like that.

He knows how I feel. He also put up with my anti-war organizing in California in the '60s and eventually agreed with this so I assume he felt some wars were justified and others not. I don't think any of them are but that said, personal self defense is quite another matter.

He wasn't too shocked when the intake officers at the draft board in LA told me to get the hell out and don't come back after I made a scene when they tried to draft me. My outbursts earned me a honorable 4-F LOL and contrary to what some think, I was never a draft dodger. They labelled me as undesireable so I counted myself lucky that they figured that I wasn't killing material.

Keep in mind that most the countries that ever fought against each other are now friends.

This world will never change I suppose but I'm not participating in it. I would rather die than go against what I believe in and that is that the war to end all wars was not.

At least I'm not partial ;-)

Thank you! Soldiers protect our right of free speech. Without them we would not remain free for long.
