Thanks I would have missed that. The exchange with Friedman was fascinating for the challenging POVs. Some of the nano-sensor folks in the space program hold out the same hope for use of their technology for improved health here on Earth. Not sure exactly what happens to the market in that instance... It may hinge on whether nano-actuators [repair bots] are close enough. If so, then drexler [Engines of Creation] may be right and we are in a post manufacturing world for sure. :-)

I had suspected Kessler's book direction since the title was obviously pattered after Fukuyama's "End of History" and Horgan's "End of Science."

I also like the blogs that Kessler has on the right hand side of his webpage... So much to read, the books may be overcome by the digiterati.
