My wifes mother died yesterday and she is leaving this morning for the Philippines.

Sorry to hear that, JDN. Give her my condolences. Travelling to the Phils from FL is a long hard trip, especially if she has to connect to a domestic flight out of Manila.

Hey, at least you only have to concern yourself now and again. We Americans have it every flight.

Guess you read me wrong. I'm a US citizen (actually a US/UK dual national from birth). I used to think that flying was fun and exciting. Now I find it a pain in the posterior..

And congrats on Florida winning the game. Ohio State looked like a vastly over rated POS (as did Michigan in the Rose Bowl). But I think that Boise State is really the national champion.. :)

My condolences to your wife and to you JDN. I hope the trip is not to difficult for her.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's mother. Some airlines have "bereavement fares." Did you inquire about that?

We saved a bit of money when my Dad died a few years ago.

JDN, I too, am sending my sympathy and thoughts to both of you. Flying is always difficult these days, but even more so when emotionally distressed.
