Well if you want to tax the "rich" you should be taxing those with savings of $500k or more, not those with incomes of $500k or more. Someone can make $500k in a year, spend $480k of it, and they won't be rich (although they probably had quite a good year, and helped the economy in the process). Whereas someone with $500k in the bank and perhaps no income, is obviously quite rich.

Do you want to increase taxes on the rich people who have saved $500k during their lifetime?
