In any case, remember they got Al Capone for income tax evasion. It doesn't mean he was innocent of all kinds of other crimes

Al Capone's arrest for Income Tax Evasion was a clear statement on the incompetence of the police investigating his crimes. That the only thing the entire US justice system could find to convict him on was Income Tax is nothing to brag about. And actually since he was not ever convicted on anything else, it does mean under US Law he is innocent of any other crime.
