I know many Americans couldn't care less, [or, as many illogically say, could care less], what the other 94% of people think about blatant hypocrisy, but it does have an effect. Explosive attacks on Americans for a start! Asking whiny questions: "Why do they hate us? We are like God'- and can show them how to be as good as us. They should all love us. Sure, we have to kick the doors in, shoot a few people, okay, the odd village full of women and children too - heck, it's a war zone and we can't take chances. But we throw a few bucks their way in compensation. Bloody ingrates. We are the greatest, most noble people on the planet and gook towel-heads can go to Hell if they don't like it. Waterboarding isn't torture, and Calley's crime was NOT as bad as Saddam's hanging offence." I don't have a particular bee in my bonnet and am not "anti-American". The paranoid touchy reaction to any criticism suggests people DO care a little bit about what other people think. On the contrary, I am very heavily invested in the USA and that is because overall I am very much in favour of how the USA does things. But I'm not prone to idolatry. I don't feel the need to be wildly enthusiastic, like an audience member for Oprah, The Price is Right, or Jerry Springer about every stupid thing that goes on. When I see abject hypocrisy, which tends to taint me, since my funds are supporting USA activities, I'll point it out. 2 out of 3 is not bad! <I like your Chimpoid Chronicles and paeans to CO2 a lot better. > Incidentally, 6 recommendations!
