I think it was entirely foreseeable that this would happen- hence the negotiations to try to apply pressure to make sure it didn't happen. But with the most respected negotiators out of the country, we failed. Yes, the US failed. The Iraqis failed too- but with their extreme anger toward Saddam, I find that more understandable than the US failure. We really don't have that much to be personally angry about- thus one might expect a little more professionalism. I expected more professionalism. I expected more than a (or another) botched job.
