U.S. Special Forces and CIA on Ground in Somalia
January 9, 2007

cbn.com

Monday's U.S. airstrike against fleeing jihadists in southern Somalia was a major step forward in the war against radical Islam. The jihadis were believed to be sheltering several al-Qaeda members--including al-Qaeda'a leader in East Africa, Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, and two suspects in the horrific 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.

A U.S. Air Force AC-130 gunship conducted Monday's strike. It flew out of the nearby African nation of Djibouti. The Pentagon has confirmed the strike but didn't give any information on who was actually killed. So, as of this writing, we don't know if Mohammed and the other al-Qaeda memebrs were killed. But U.S. helicopters carried out another attack on southern Somalia just hours ago, again targeting al-Qaeda.

I reported on today's 700 Club that military sources have told us U.S. special forces and C.I.A. paramilitary officers are on the ground in Somalia, helping Ethiopian and Somali federal troops pinpoint targets.

Daveed Gartenstein-Ross goes into further detail on U.S. involvement here.

Expect this involvement to continue, as the U.S. is determined to avoid seeing Somalia turn into a terrorist sanctuary in the strategically positioned Horn of Africa.

he iPod functionality is almost a side benefit, and with the limited storage compared to the high end iPods, serious music aficionados will still want to carry their 80 GB iPods as well.

don't buy it...

or at least i should say it will likely stop me from buying it (limited storage, amongst other things)...i've been chatting on the apple thread all day about stupidity of buying gen1 apple products

cool looking gadget though
