$499 is the price. That is pretty pricy for a phone.

Today. But by summer it will be $399 and next Xmas it will be $299, and so on and so on and so on.

oho - no but I wish I had. Aapl has always been more expensive than any competition. I never bought an aapl laptop even though they lookgorgeous and had a great O/S because of the incredible price differential over windows based machines. BUT millions of other did and do. And aaplis getting more pervasive. It is becoming part of lifestyles of its millions of followers. Even the packaging is gorgeous. At Christmas there were lines outside the aapl stores and you had to wait on line to get in to buy goods at full price. Incredible.

I am just floored that they chose edge. Nauseatingly floored. But I have to admit its a brilliant move. Imagine what aapl are going to say to a w-cdma chip vendor when they start thinking of upgrading the iphone ( if they ever do!!!). They are going to cut the toughest deal in history.

Best,

L
