Its one thing to believe that "all men are created equal" and its another to favor others over your own. While I think its unfortunate that Mexico is very corrupt and does not produce enough jobs for its own people inspite of having great wealth, I don't want to assist Mexicans at the expense of Americans. Do you?

Of course I do, so do you even though you're not thinking about it, and it's really common.

Every time an American gives to a charity that does anything in Mexico it helps Mexicans at the expense of Americans (an American charity didn't get that money). Live Aid helped Ethiopians at the expense of all non-Ethiopians (including Americans). When the US poured millions into helping the SE Asia 2005 tsunami victims all that charity helped SE Asians at the expense of Americans. Hopefully the long term result is an "all boats rise scenario", so things like NAFTA will help all of us North Americans, but, like most humans, I value helping everybody on the planet, not just Americans.
