I think Mythbusters used several different bullets with the standard sniper rifles.

My thoughts exactly, Shootie. The black tipped 165 grain armor piercing (AP) bullets were the preferred round used by snipers. The Mythbusters program didn't talk much about the type ammo used on that program segment, but I'd assume that they used civilian soft point loads that would be much less likely to go through all the glass in a scope.

Besides, I'd prefer to believe Carlos Hathcock's story! <GGG>
