That would be ME. A stat I read somewhere.. ppionline.org "An unprecedented 67 percent of Americans now own their own homes. " I think the 70% number was a Bushie fell-good stat, maybe rounded up from the above, touting his "ownership society". Of course, anyone with a mortgage is only PRETENDING to own a home, the LENDER owns the home, all they really own is the debt to eventually pay for the home.
