Never once has my issue been that the middle class was disappearing. My position always has been that the rich are getting richer at the expense of the middle class.

Henderson (or Reynolds who Henderson quoted) was arguing that the middle class wasn't disappearing. If your going to debunk him (as you claimed you did) you would have to show that it was disappearing (or at the very least that his data and arguments to show it was not are false).

As for the rich getting richer at the expense of the middle class that is shown to be false by the fact that 1 - The middle class has also gotten wealthier over the years, 2 - Quite a few of the rich are former middle class, and most importantly 3 - Generating new wealth isn't getting rich at the expense of anyone. So the richer getting richer faster than the middle class doesn't equal the rich getting richer at the expense of the middle class.

But even the rich getting richer faster then the middle class is not something that is solidly established.
