I would never say the US isn't doing some things right. That's not the issue. We don't need to correct what we're doing right- we need to correct what we're doing wrong. And I don't think other countries do much better with their foreign relations. Have you ever watched soap operas? I don't know if you've noticed, but people in them are continually doing the same sorts of stupid things, over and over, the things always end up badly (secrets are always discovered, blackmail never works out, etc). I think of foreign relations that way. It just seems like it could be less like a soap opera, and more like a chem lab- weigh the chemicals out, make sure you understand the reaction, if you don't understrand the reaction- DON'T mix them together.

Do not think, because I speak about problems, that I don't think there are many positives in the US- too many to list. I don't really see the point in talking about the positives- although we could, if it would serve some purpose. I live here in the US- if I thought somewhere else was better, I'd move- that's the biggest statement I can make, but that doesn't mean I don't want this country to do better, a lot better, and the country isn't like a child- if I "catch it being good" it's not going to know that, and it's not going to feel my pat on the head. In order to make the country better I must as a citizen try to improve the things I see wrong, and make sure the things I see that are going right, stay going that way.
