Recently watched a PBS special on worldwide tree harvesting/logging. Boy was I shocked at the level of total destruction going on in other parts of the world. Basically, there is a total lack of oversight regarding harvesting in most countries other that the US/CAN and parts of EU. The US and CAN have a great program and is environmentally neutral I hate to imagine the level of destruction we will see ww should this type of 'harvesting' expand to other natural resources in these areas.
