I agree that you need to keep an eye on that score. It isn't necessarily the be all end all, but since we are all stuck in the same sandbox, together, it's good to keep an eye on what the other children think. If they think you are a bully, even if you aren't actually a bully (assuming such things are quantifiable)- it's probably useful to change that impression.

Whether or not judgments are "true" really doesn't matter all that much sometimes. I think in many cases the perception really is the reality- or it is the reality that matters, and the one you have to take care of. PR firms know this, as do the folks who hire them (just about every business in America, and every politician, and every lobbying group...)
