Recently, the Canadian TV networks have featured some R&D by a company called SemBioSys (or something close to that) which I believe is affilitated with the University of Alberta in Calgary.

They issued two PRs this week. Here’s the first one on their lead program in plant-derived insulin:

The second PR this week concerns SBS’ collaboration with MATK to develop a higher-yield process for DHA to replace MATK’s inefficient algae-based system.

This is a pretty interesting company, IMO.
