I think that the failure of the Alien Technology IPO has hurt the short term prospects for RFID related IPOs (not to mention Sarbox), so the trend toward consolidation will probably continue. I was looking forward to the prospect of a Savi Technology IPO, but they were acquired by Lockheed. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Verichip IPO. Over the past few years, Symbol suffered so many self-inflicted wounds that it was just a matter of time before someone acquired them.
