Ted, > The constitutional crisis I am talking about is one where the President and Congress are at loggerheads, dividing the country further.

I think it's important to clarify terms here. There is a huge political crisis here, but there is no constitutional crisis. The roles are clear. It doesn't matter how unpopular the sitting President is. The only way to stop what he's doing is to either impeach him or cut off his funding.

The only "constitutional crisis" in your mind is the lack of a "vote of no confidence," but even then, you could always push for an amendment.

Either way, the Democrats are going to look like the ones who are taking the gear and the equipment away from our soldiers.

Not if they bring the troops home.

He's right. They can't force him to bring the troops home...if they cut funds, bush has two recourses, 1) he re-directs $$ from elsewhere 2) he starves supplies. In either case he makes a public outcry, and when the mission fails as it will, he gets to blame it on the dems. The dems have no play, beyond a dis_play of disapproval.

I believe that McCain loses his prez bid over this, as does Guiliani and anyone who supports this idiocy. The war is lost. Iran has won. It took a drunk baseball owner from texas to bring this kind of shame to the US.
