"I don't know. Its been my experience that people who feel played with and have a certain amount of power find any number of ways to curtail the activities of an adversary."

You are assuming a rational adversary. I am not sure that applies to Bush. Which is not to say he is crazy, although I can't discount that, but that he doesn't play the game to maximize the outcome. He is perfectly willing to spend other peoples lives, careers, money, with no remorse or hesitation, to get what he wants. This limits what the Democrats can do without the thermonuclear option.

All I can say is that we will see how it plays out. To me, Bush is the truant kid whose parents [Congress] have finally figured out how he thinks and are starting to really crack down on him. There is no respect left for the presidency so at this point there isn't much to lose. Time will tell........however, I think its going to get very ugly.
