Amazing, we promote oil revenue sharing to all the people in Iraq but in Venezuela doing such a thing is very, very "evil socialism". Gee I wonder why? Couldn't have anything to do with "western oil companies" could it?

Yes.

When I asked a Republican who the vast oil resources of Pennsylvania and TX belonged to in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Rockefeller/Standard Oil shareholders or the people of the US, he replied, "Well, the people of the US benefitted from it, didn't they?" When I asked who got the profits from it, and what was the difference whether the State got the profits or a private monopoly shareholding company, he looked at me with disgust.
