Don't put all the blame on Bush and Cheney. To be sure, they were overly influenced by AIPAC (American-Israel Public Affairs Committee. Bush was, no doubt, lured by what seemed to be a "cinch" conquest of Iraq and the resulting promise for his immortality in history.
