well, it will trend towards 2 trillion an could be much more unless we get the f--- out of dodge city pdq. hidden costs include the interest on the additions to our national debt caused by war spending, the loss of economic service from the tens of thousands killed, wounded or traumatized by the war and the diversion of productive civilian investment to dead end military use. These could be in the range of half a trillion or more and are not considered by the economists , i don't think at least.
