My own black ice story happened when I was still in high school. A buddy and I decided to drive to Cheyenne in the middle of the night. Don't ask why, it was a dumb teen age idea. Somewhere north of Fort Collins,at about 60 mph, we hit black ice. The car continued straight down the highway, but turned a full 360 degrees around. Just as we left the patch of ice, the car was facing directly down the highway, as if nothing had happened. My buddy, with eyes the size of doughnuts, asked "Do you want me to drive?" Seems funny to me today, but we weren't laughing then.
