Last year an old guy at the coffee shop made some money on bean futures. Then he got greedy and bought a lot of contracts. Next day they started sliding and I told him he better call the elevator. He tells me that he had a nickle down stop so he wouldn't lose much. Now they had opened a dime down but he knew it all. After a week he calls the elevator and they tell him the nickle stop doesn't work on a dime down opening and so far he was out $30k.
