Having grown up in an agricultural area of South Texas, I experienced the aroma of an onion field many times. Fresh and clean, as you said, and no tears ...

But there was an even more delightful aroma experience -- driving by an orange grove at orange-blossom time. Almost wonderful enough to make you want to be a bee ... :)

I love it when the county mows in the spring. You can smell all the sweet wild onion plants.
