Coulter advocates McCarthyism. That fascist believed that any Americans who didn't salute the far rightwing were "communists", "enemies of the state" and should be destroyed. Basically, what McCarthy did was dishonestly use the old idealistic definition of "communism" from the Great Depression era to brand any person who believed in human rights, civil rights or workers rights a "traitor". And he almost got away with it. He desteoyed a lot of fine Americans before he was finally stopped. We came very close to becoming a fascist country in the early 50's, and most of the logic behind it was a big fat lie. Similar to Bush's "war on terror" BS of 2002-2006. All those fear tactics about nuclear holocaust. The threat was wildly exaggerated in order to cow people into saluting a bunch of political thugs and war profiteers. But now we know Iraq has little to do with the war on terror. It was all a huge lie, a bait and switch diversion, really after oil-fields and grabbing power. But it failed. And hardly any effort at all to get the real terrorists.
