Saddam presided over a brutal and repressive regime, but as to your 5000 per month number it is incumbent upon you to show that anywhere near that number were killed on an ongoing basis -- year after year. Show me any evidence that 5000 people a month were plucked from streets and fed into wood chippers in the years leading up to our invasion and you can claim that we are presiding over a situation that is no better and no worse than before we invaded.
