Looks like Nifong has asked to be taken off the case. If the Judge does not dismiss it at the Feb. 5 hearing, it will be dismissed voluntarily by March 1. I heard a story that Nifong did this to ensure reelection so he could maximize his retirement. We can only hope he'll be disbarred by the NC Bar and lose all of his pension. The guy is a disgrace to the profession.
