SP,

He's in an open tuning - almost sounds like a full E or E minor.
Hey how about that for combination ear and reading music?!!!
Whoaaah - I'm gaining on it. Lessons are going ok - learning to read music is hard after all these years of playing by ear. It does open up a lot of things not having to get a recording, listen to it and hunt around figuring out what chords they are using.
I am an old dog, learning new tricks.

That piece was really nice - finger style is great, plus he had a little percussion going for him. Leo K. often uses his thumb or fingers to bang a percussion as he plays. You listen to Chris Smithers at all? He does that all the time. This will date me, but I used to listen to him and Bonnie Raitt in Cambridge at "Jacks" (1970). They did a lot of stuff together - Smithers backing her up - they were great together.
