The only time I have trouble with most movies is when I'm familiar with the locality. Then I'm always wondering how they could have got from that river to that pond or something.

The movie "A River Runs Through It" is a good example. It's an excellent movie with a fly fishing theme set on the Big Blackfoot River in Montana. I've fished that river, and the action depicted does not fit. Robert Redford claimed the Big Blackfoot was too polluted to play itself in the movie, which is positively not true.

I suppose one has to suspend disbelief in order to enjoy movies. I have seen how they do it close up, and that pretty much ruined it for me.

I do have great respect for the filmmaker's art, and I wish they would keep their politics to themselves.

I don't really care much for movies about city people, unless it's a really good drama.
