<< I had an opportunity to go to a company holiday dinner with my friend and we sat with Gale. I tried not to bore him with my memories. I would have done his yard work had he asked.>>

This guy who I worked for went from playing football to being the chairman of the board at GTE. Had a drop dead young wife plus a cabin in the country with 10 acres with a well stocked pond. My yard job was to ride out with his wife and driver to that cabin and catch bass so the pond didn't get over populated while his wife tended her flowers. Thinking back I think it was more to keep the driver from boinking the young wife.

At the time I worked in the basement of my dad's store and got 25 cents an hour doing inventory and $5 an hour for going fishing. I loved that side job.

Decatur Staleys. My dad bought a year old Cadillac that was a trade in from a guy who worked at Staleys. First time he turned on the air the stench of cooked soy beans came out of the vents and like to gagged us. Went away after awhile.
