Hopefully, people will just raise h*ll...er...the roof.. with Pelosi UNTIL she takes the "earmarks" off all of the CA companies that she excluded from the minimum wage. I simply can NOT imagine why or what excuse she made to let the rest of the Dem House get away with that!!! What would she be hanging over their head? Having a minimum wage is so stupid anyway. I've said a LOT of time....pay everyone in the country a $15-20/hr minimum wage. NO TIPS due. Take EVERYONE off welfare unless they can prove they can NOT work. We'd be farther ahead. With the difference of the NO welfare check funds, we could give it back to the employers that are paying the higher wage..with a tapering decrease in those funds. That would give the employee with the higher wage, the ability to actually become proficient enough to earn the money. In WA State, we have had a $7.25+ minimum wage for sometime now. What happened with the new Jan 07 kick-in, is that all restaurant meals will go higher...and especially the banquet type meals. That means higher wages for the staff, and higher tips will be expected.... And just wait till the citizens of CA start to feel not only that, but the increase in medical insurance so that all the ILLEGALS can get free care............Cripes, we can't even take that kind of care of the citizens who live here LEGALLY. It will TILT one of these days. There is really NO FREE LUNCH.
