Many, As a reply to your first sentence, my answer is all of them. I do think that the family should be the first factor in a child's life, where he can grow up with morals, and an idea of what is the right thing to do throughout his life. It is the family that should teach the child about what an adult is supposed to be, and do so by being what the adults should be.
The adults of the family are responsible for teaching respect for those that deserve it, and see that the children are taught the importance of an education, then be active in school activities to make sure that the teachers are of the highest caliber possible.

With the right types of schools, the children can get a good education and be prepared to go into the world and make their marks the right way by working hard to go up the ladder of society, and achieve success.

We don't need the bling, bling, rapping boom boxes, and disrespect for law enforcement in our society. We also don't need the attitude that all things are judged by the amount of money a person can get by hook or crook.

Like you, I don't understand why people are willing to live in a world as foul as a cess pool.

you're right about the MSM, but once they are exposed as liars, they will no longer be the MSM that we have today. The media was meant to report the news, not tamper with it.

"I don't know whether the problem lies with the schools, the parents, society at large, or what."

Children learn their values at home. When home life is weak they learn their values either at school or on the streets.

My kids talk to me. I know so much more than they do, but I cannot teach them unless they believe I am interested in them. The only way to convince them of this is to listen. If a person does this to fool people it will not fool them. I / you must be genuinely interested to pull it off.
