It means I have got a long wait before things cool off again.

In the mean time, there is also the concept of interactions.

Like for example, they may well be a temperature variation of say 6 degree C over a 100 years. It could be a cycle caused by the sun perhaps.

That would be one factor. We can call it "FACTOR ONE"

Another factor could be atmospheric heating by carbon dioxide, methane etc. An effect well understood. Lets have a quick look how that is changing.

en.wikipedia.org.

Call it "FACTOR TWO".

Now the effect of one factor can INTERACT with another factor. In science, experiments evaluating interactions between factors is well understood. It's an effect we can easily measure.

So, some natural global warming plus a little extra carbon dioxide can make the warming effect a little stronger. Then melting permafrost can add methane, and melting methane hydrates in the sea bed can contribute to the problem even further.

That way a small problem can become a big problem.

FACTOR ONE interacts with FACTOR TWO.

Hence the concern.
