For some reason I couldn't get the article to display, but I wonder if that analysis includes the energy consumption and inefficiencies in charging batteries. Does the article say how they distinguish mobile broadband from "mobile everything else?"

It would also have to account for "substitution." In other words, what energy-consuming activities are being replaced by mobile broadband and how they net that out.
