Hedge funds grew 12.07% in '06

Hedge funds returned plus 1.49% in December, a 12.07% increase for year-to-date, according to the Greenwich Global Hedge Fund Index of Greenwich Alternative Investments LLC.

Over the last five years, from January 2002 through December 2006, the Greenwich Global Hedge Fund Index had annualized gains of 9.23% versus the Standard & Poor's annualized gains of 6.18%.

"Emerging Market strategies performed best in 2006, ending the year up +21.32%," said general manager of the database and indexation group of the Greenwich, Conn. company, Ben Rossman, in a statement.

I'm getting more bearish again. I don't actually think there will be a new ATH this year. In fact we might be close to the high for this bull market.... I'm betting NDX put in the high actually, SPX can go up another couple of days.
