We had a dog like that once. She was a real outside dog with a nice bed inside the out in the shed. She just took it for granted that is where she belonged. For a long time she just wasn't comfortable inside, but as she aged we noticed that she wanted to come in and lay by the fire. I think it was arthritis. Eventually we relented and let her come in. The cold was just too much for her weary old bones.
