People said the same types of things about Vietnam in trying to get us to stick with THAT loser war. We left, and the conseqences for us were ALL for the good.

What, exactly ARE the conseqences, in your mind? Think about the negative impact of "Black Hawk Down" multiplied by 100. What exactly was the negative impact of the Blackhawk Down followed by departure from Somalia to the USA? The Somalians have lived in chaos since, but what was so bad to the USA? Since then we've hosted a few Olympics, turned the internet into a worldwide daily activity, had an amazing stock bubble, deflation, and then 4 years of rising markets, had one of the most amazing runs in property prices in history, encouraged China to enter the world economy, and become the #1 economic and military power on the planet. I could go on, but you get the point. The USA is doing great. So what exactly is the negative impact to the USA of Blackhawk Down x 100?
