Anyone who is new to investing in this area ought to copy your post and all its links and do exactly the same as you are doing.

From Today's Peak Oil Review 15 JAN 2007: By ASPO USA:

• A Mexican newspaper has obtained a government document showing that in the fourth quarter the Cantarell oilfield will be producing only 1.329 million b/d. In 2005 Cantarell produced over 2 million b/d which was over 60 percent of Mexico’s oil production.

I was just reading your post again:

" know that I’m starting to sound like a broken record but I believe Don Coxe. Buy oil companies based on long life reserves in politically secure areas of the world. (PE ratio, cash flow and other fundamental valuation metrics are secondary). The Canadian oil sand companies have assets that cannot be replicated.

My Portfolio:

25% COSWF
25% SU
15% CNQ
15% ECA
15% NXY
"

That is very sound advice. I wish that I could recommend the "oil sands" thread for further and more specialized discussion, but the quality of intellect to be found there, with a few exceptions such as William Hickman, makes it impossible to recommend.
