You're right again, of course. It's like all things that take practice to be good at. However, you don't have to be a part of the Olympic team to be able to protect yourself adequately. Most thugs don't even know how to slap effectively. That's why they usually introduce weapons. In that case, few of us would be prepared to protect ourselves.

I saw a demo some time ago about being confronted by a person with a knife. The "expert's" advice should this happen to you: "Run, make yourself invisible, or learn to fly." Makes sense to me. Few of us are Superman.
