"Even before man started populating this planet in the billions.." This is the root cause of a host of our problems today. We are a rapacious and destructive specie to nature. Other animals that we find so, we limit or even exterminate. Yet, we see our own unlimited reproduction as ordained by God. At some point in the future, with 3 billion Chinese and Indians wanting to live the good life of the westerner, and westerners consuming 25% of the world's energy production, we're going to have to choose. Do we want lower numbers that can live like kings of old only dreamed of, or lives of scrambling discontent? The lifestyle you and I enjoy NOW may be close to our best days..
