Quite seriously I don't wonder if we would be better off right now if we had employed Kissinger style and time tested pragmatism towards Saddam rather than Cheney's 1% doctrine/preemptive invasion stew of notions. Preemptive invasion is quite a concept - is'nt that what Napoleon and Ghengis Khan did? I don't feel we got much bang for the buck when Saddam was hanged. We exchanged 3000 (and counting) of our good boys, massive treasure and a life/moneypit/headache for years and years to come for his worthless life - seems like we "got took".
