Wow... straight out of "The Twilight Zone". My plant has been passed down in the family following a death since my Grandmother, over 25 years ago. As far as I know, it's never been repotted. My SIL, who visits from FL once or twice a year, is a former nursery worker and knows ALL about plants. She's offered to repot it several times, but I always say no. It's too healthy to mess with it. I just give it a haircut a couple times a year and it keeps on keeping on. That's why it has a name: Bother Me
