It changes the balance of power in the Middle East. Which may not be a bad thing, but history has shown us that upsetting balances in the Middle East usually results in lots of people dying.

Or the US becoming much less popular throughout the world?

Or the weakening of some of our most important International institutions?

Its debatable how much this has happened do to this war.
