Saudi Arabia has seen flurry of high level visits from Cheney, Rice and others recently. Further Saudi ambassador packed up and just left. There must be something going on in the background - though not some kind of hatchet or an insidous level conspiracy. Oil might just be one of the levers of foreign policy available to both countries that is perhaps being applied. Time will tell, but this had been discussed many times before.
