The end result of the CTL is a CLEAN burning Diesel Fuel that is absolutely free of particulate residue. It IMPROVES air quality. I think everyone here needs to read up on this a bit before the trashing continues.

Those who live in W. Va. live in a state historically controlled by the Democrats. To have a government job there you register Democrat.

My advice to Obama is to tread carefully on this issue of coal gasfication----otherwise he could lose W.Va. and likely the "green" vote.

Farming, coal, limestone quarries were the basis for West Virginia's industry. Life was hard in the mountains for past generations-----------black lung disease for men who worked in coal mines lieing on their backs and bellies to work a seam of coal, contamination from the chemical plants many now closed.

Obama's home state Hawaii and West Virginia have natural beauty that compares in different ways ----one surrounded by water and the other a land-locked, beautiful mountain state.

Obama needs to make a trip to W.Va. not for giving political speeches but to talk with the people in order to understand the issues of preserving the environment. When he talks about conversion of coal via gasfication he needs to understand the issues and have an answer and solution to their concerns.
