The extended MM5-GFS will run right out to
168hours (upper right hand corner of the
screen). Although, it does not make a lot
of sense to look at mesoscale details beyond
about 72 hours. At 9am, the model is only out
to 72 hours--but by afternoon it will have run
out to 168. You can select a previous run if
you want to see a long loop. You must be doing
this with a fast connection to the internet--I
don't bother much with loops at home as we have
dial up.

For the basic weather pattern, mainly just
look at the 500mb level...and the NCEP
global and regional models are here
nco.ncep.noaa.gov

And when you've had enough of sorting through
all of that, be sure to check the forecast;-)

I'm on a few days off--if I need a quick forecast
before heading up to the slopes, I usually just
call into work. More often, I ignore the forecast.
More fun to be surprised anyway I think. And anyway,

MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF RAIN,
LOWS IN THE 30S HIGHS IN THE 40S, ought to about do
it anyway <g>
