I support the idea of using the US's military strength to remove despots from power
The funny thing is that Saddam was contained and his wings were clipped after the first gulf war. Going after him was useless. On the other hand the US should leverage its might to fairly negotiate with its opponent and force should be used as a last resort and not after 30 days of negotiation. I have my theory about why the US rushed after Saddam. Unfortunately, now the US is regarded as a weak opponent in war. The US can drop bombs from 50k feet from the air and 1000 mile from a sea but it can not engage in combat. Today, this is what Iran is banking on. If the US or Israel hits Iran, Iran has an extra 22k soldiers as a targets (Muqtada can do the job) and not to mention Hezo stationed north of Israel or maybe financing Bin Laden. The Axes of evil are NK and Iran not Iraq. Iraq was weak target and Bush decided to go after the weak exposing his own weakness.
