That's a fascinating article you linked to on CO2 extraction from the atmosphere. Thanks for that.

There will certainly be an upside for many people from global warming. New farmlands will be created, many natural resources should be easier to get to, more fresh water availability etc. Unfortunately there will also be many downsides as well due to the increased energy in the atmosphere. Some regions of the world that had mild climates will experience bitter cold in winter. current prime farmlands may become deserts. Crops will fail due to increased storm activity (we just saw up to $1B in crop damage in California last week), Hurricanes will become stronger, Coastal cities will be below sea level.

The bottom line of GW appears to be that the weather will likely become more violent and less predictable due to the increased energy in the atmosphere. It is possible that it will all be for the good. It is also possible that it will become a self feeding runaway situation that drives the planet surface temperatures up to 700 degrees. I'd rather not roll the dice if I don't have to.
